AI Painter is an interactive projection system where the act of painting becomes the artwork. Live input — a hand on a tablet, or a prompt from the crowd — blooms in real time as generative imagery, mapped precisely onto a physical surface. It has been shown as a painting on a canvas, and the same system scales to screens and to full building façades.

Concept

The piece sits between the intimate gesture of painting and the generative models that can now imagine from a few words or marks. It is built to be flexible: the prompt can be authored for a specific event, or handed to the audience so visitors steer what the surface becomes — the same engine, endlessly re-themed per event.

How it works

Input drives a real-time system that generates imagery and maps it onto the target surface with projection mapping — canvas, screen, or building — so the painted light lands exactly where the surface is.
